Cemetery Road man stabbed with ice pick

An argument between two men ended with one stabbing the other in the left side of his rib cage last night.

Up to press time last night the 24-year-old was in the emergency unit of the Georgetown Public Hospital receiving treatment.

Mikhail Carter of A&B Cemetery Road, Lodge, was stabbed around 7:45 last night by a man he was having arguments with all week, Carter’s mother, Esther Warner told Stabroek News at the GPHC last night. The incident occurred in the front yard of the said residence.

Warner said that she sent her son downstairs for some water to finish some chores she was doing when she heard loud arguments. She said that she went out onto the verandah and saw the other man across the street carrying on a loud argument with her son, who was standing at the front of the yard. The man then suddenly ran into the yard, rushed up to her son and before she knew it he had stabbed him with an ice pick.
