Mason remanded over murder at Aranka

A mason who allegedly murdered another man at an interior location was remanded to prison yesterday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Julius Jones, 27, of 37 Norton Street, Wortmanville who allegedly murdered Errol Haynes was not required to plead to the indictable offence.

The prosecution stated that on May 25 at Aranka backdam, Essequibo, Jones along with another man murdered Haynes.

Magistrate Robertson-Ogle ordered that Jones be remanded to prison and the case be transferred to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court for October 23.
