New GT&T cell site launched at Sheet Anchor

The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) has set up another cellular site, this time at Sheet Anchor, which will benefit customers on the East Berbice, Corentyne Coast.

According to a GT&T press release, the powering up of this latest site closely follows two others at Pike Street, Kitty, and DaSilva Street, Newtown, Georgetown that were brought online about a week ago.

The release further stated that cellular service will soon become a reality for residents of Ituni and the surrounding areas as the company gets ready to bring online its mobile system in that community. Additionally, as part of GT&T’s commitment to support national development, work is in progress to augment mobile service in Lethem.

Apart from the establishment of new sites, GT&T said, it is intensifying efforts to boost capacity at several of its existing locations to ensure that quality service is maintained and improved as demand for service continues to increase.
