According to a press release, some 350 persons attended the event with President Bharrat Jagdeo, who had also attended the school, addressing the gathering to extend his appreciation to them all.

The Reunion/Fundraiser was done as a way of rekindling the friendship among former teachers and students and also to allow them to give back to the school.
The members of the planning committee for the event included Eshwar Persaud, Mohamed Ally, Hafez Ali, Seopaul Singh, Indra Puran, Parbattie Singh, Chano Ali, Grace Seecoomar and Koomarie Doobay Gaymes.

“It is our hope that this event will be an annual occasion to maintain friendship of the former Bygeval teachers and students and to continue our efforts to give back to the school that has laid the foundation for many of us and made us proud to be former students…” Doobay Gaymes said.

Receiving the items, which included one tractor-mower, uniforms for 260 students, sports gear and equipment for the Home Economics and Agricultural Science departments were Minister of Education Shaik Baksh and Head Mistress of Bygeval Multilateral School Cheryl Dos Santos.
