A 43-year-old man who allegedly had in his possession a quantity of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking was remanded to prison on Tuesday when he appeared before Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Elvis Archer of Corentyne pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

It is alleged that on October 4 at Arcado, Mahdia, Archer was found with 49 grammes of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
The magistrate ordered that Archer be remanded to prison and  return to court on
October 14.
