-misses out on millionaire prize
Although she missed being a millionaire not just once but twice, June Lynch exited Courts Guyana Inc. on Main Street a happy woman after winning the case #5 prize of $250,000 at the “Courts Stash Of Cash 2” prize presentation yesterday.

The 52-year-old Meadowbrook Gardens resident who is a mother of five and grandmother of  many displayed her excitement in laughing, clapping and jumping after her prize was announced.

The “Courts Stash Of Cash 2” promotion which was launched last Thursday announced that the company has  $24M up for grabs. Four winners will be chosen in October and  each one of them has the chance of winning $1M every week.
To enter the promotion each customer making a purchase of $5,000 and over is presented with an entry form which must be  dropped into the boxes provided. These entries are valid until yearend.

The promotion’s prize presentation which was similar to the popular television show “Deal or No Deal”  had Lynch picking one of five cases that was supposed to carry the grand prize of $1M. Lynch’s choice was case #5 and she was influenced by three out of her five family members who were present and encouraged her to make that selection.

It was an anxiety filled atmosphere as every other case was opened before Lynch’s. “One…two…three, open the case” said Courts ‘James Bond’, Howard Lorrimer, as the first case, Case #2 revealed the  $1M grand prize. The crowd uttered a collective sigh but Courts had another surprise for her.   Courts ‘James Bond’ then offered to give Lynch $600,000 without opening her case but she declined even though the $500,000 and $750,000 prizes were already revealed but had not been claimed by her.

However, unknowingly another $1M prize was hidden in case #3 and the crowd sighed even louder as Lynch stared in awe at the open case. Finally her case was opened; it was not another grand prize but a $250,000 cash prize. Being the first winner of this year’s “Stash of Cash 2” promotion Lynch said, “I am so happy, I only bought a gas stove early before the Christmas season rush and I know I am going to continue shopping at Courts.”

Lynch told Stabroek News that she is thinking about investing in something with the money.
Courts Country Manager Lester Alvis stated that the promotion is a way in which the company gives its loyal customers a life-changing experience when they shop at Courts.

However Courts advises customers who had supplied and will be supplying entries to check out the weekly winners in the live broadcast on NCN 11 every Wednesday at 11:05am or on Radio 98.1 at the same time. The draws will be conducted every Tuesday as the promotion continues.
