IAC Eid Fest on Saturday

The Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) in collaboration with the Muslim community is hosting its first Eid Fest on Saturday.

In a press release the IAC said Eid Fest 2008 is expected to attract a large number of patrons, “many of whom will be adherents of Islam who come from diverse backgrounds.”
The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the end of Ramadhan, the ninth month of the Islamic Lunar Calendar. The celebration will be hosted at the Lusignan Tarmac, East Coast Demerara from 4 pm. It is expected to feature free games for children, a rich cultural programme and offering of prayers including the remembrance of the Lusignan massacre.
