‘Shilling’ died from fractured skull

Family believes he was murdered

Eshwar Seecharran who was discovered dead on the public road at East Meten-Meer-Zorg, West Coast Demerara on Monday died from a fractured skull and also had a cut behind his ears.

As a result of these findings, the police are trying to determine if the man was hit by a vehicle or was murdered.

The 56-year-old De Willem resident who was known as ‘Shilling’ was discovered dead with suspicious wounds to the back of the head around 3 pm outside a grocery.

The man’s niece Merlyn told Stabroek News on Tuesday that when the post- mortem examination was completed she was told by the doctor that he had sustained a fractured skull which resulted from a chop and there were bruises about his body as if he had been beaten.

The woman said that she is now convinced that the man, a former cane cutter was murdered.

She and her relatives are pleading with the police to act swiftly.
