Guyanese Devindra Kissoon was on Friday admitted to the local Bar in the presence of Prime Minister Samuel Hinds, a release from the Government Information Agency (GINA) stated.
And Chief Justice Ian Chang, S.C. on admitting Kissoon to the Bar encouraged urged him to upkeep the moral ethics and characteristics of the profession.
According to GINA, Kissoon was born in Georgetown to Ramesh Kissoon (late former Deputy Mayor of Georgetown) and Vijay Kissoon, but he grew up in Linden. After completing the University College London degree, he took the Bar at the Inns of Court School of Law where he was a Leonard Worseley Scholar of the Inner Temple. He worked at the 6 King’s Bench Walk, the leading criminal law Chambers in Europe, for six months before turning to civil law.
He joined the leading commercial litigation Chambers in Europe – Essex Court Chambers which has over 32 Queen’s Counsel as members – and worked there for two years.
