The Government of Guyana made the right choice not to repair the Bell 412 helicopter to date. The helicopter is still in a state of disrepair with the two engines to be replaced and more damaged components for replacement. The total bill to repair the Bell 412 helicopter will be an additional amount of US$700,000-$900,000 (if second-hand engines are acquired) and this adds to the in excess of US$1,100,000 already spent within the past 18 months.  All this money being spent and the Bell 412 is still not flying, and hasn’t been flown for more than approximately 45 hours within the past 4 years.  The Bell 412 should be parked and used by the aviation maintenance school to train students. It will save the government and taxpayers  millions of US dollars in the future and contribute to the development of our youths in training. Scrap it now before we waste more money on it. We cannot afford it.
