Boy, 12, succumbs to accident injuries

A 12-year-old accident victim succumbed to his injuries at the Georgetown Public Hospital on Monday, one day after he was hit by a minibus on the East Coast Public Road.

Roy Bailey of 173 Foulis, East Coast Demerara, had undergone surgery and was placed in the open ward of the hospital, but was complaining of “belly pains.” He died on Monday.

According to reports reaching this newspaper, the boy was with his mother when he was hit by minibus BGG 7462, shortly after 6 pm on Sunday. The bus is in police custody while investigations continue.
