Chandrawattie Persaud called to the bar

Chandrawattie Persaud was recently admitted to the Guyana Bar. Attorney Joseph Harmon presented Persaud’s petition to the court. In her address Persaud said she is grateful to professors Aubrey Bishop, Keith Massiah, SC, Rudolph James and Dr June Hilliman for their guidance at the University of Guyana and the tutors at the Hugh Wooding Law School.

She said too she is grateful to GPSU President Patrick Yarde and to the executive council and membership for their moral support as well as to Minister Dr Jennifer Westford and Dr Nanda Gopaul and the Office of the President. Persaud also singled out her husband and son for their patience, tolerance and encouragement during the course of her study. Persaud said as she starts her legal career she is committed to striving for excellence at all times, and maintaining and upholding the dignity and nobility of the legal profession.
