According to a press release from the Region Three Regional Admini-stration Office, Faerber said the local government ministry is funding the project. He told farmers that the design is complete and tenders will soon be advertised. Faerber also said additional costs will be borne by the Regional Administration.

During the meeting, residents voiced concerns about the state of the road leading to the site where the wharf would be built. They also pointed out that there was a leaking water main alongside the road.

In response Faerber gave assurances that both matters would be addressed. He said the region is currently upgrading roads. He said too he was dissatisfied with the ongoing works and would bring it to the attention of the regional engineer.
Faerber also said since residents are the beneficiaries of the works they should be the “eyes and ears” of the administration. He also told residents that the Guyana Water Incorporated would be informed about the damaged pipe.
