Girl shocked on Diwali motorcade

Misfortune struck one of the young beauties personifying the Hindu Goddess of Wealth, Lakshmi, when she was shocked last night during the Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha’s Motorcade Competition.

When Stabroek News arrived at the Georgetown Public Hospital shortly after 10 pm, the 11-year-old girl was conscious, awaiting treatment in the emergency room and appeared to be stable condition. Relatives of the child refused to comment.

However, this newspaper understands that the child was shocked by an exposed section of one of the many electrical wires netted on the motorcade to power the decorative light bulbs.
