The Indian Arrival Committee (IAC) in its Deepavali message called on everyone to heed the important messages brought on the occasion of the festival and urged all Guyanese to resist evil in all its forms.

And while extending greetings to all Guyanese, especially those who follow Hinduism on the occasion of the festival of Deepavali, the IAC also urged everyone to work together co-operatively and harmoniously for the economic development and growth of Guyana and for the national unity.”
