The MV Makouria could not leave the New Amsterdam (NA) stelling but the pontoon MB Sandaka was summoned to ply the NA to Blairmont route.

The pontoon assisted in crossing the long queue of cars and buses at Blairmont.

The queue for trucks and canters extended some distance from the Rosignol and NA stellings.

Some drivers told Stabroek News that they were forced to wait for more than four hours to cross.
