Security guard stabbed

Patricia Rose, a 44-year-old security guard who was attacked and stabbed repeatedly about the body while on duty just after midnight on Saturday, is a patient of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).

When Stabroek News visited the woman shortly after 12.30 pm yesterday she appeared to be asleep.
Rose who is attached to the Kanhai Security Service was sitting in her East Street guard hut at the front gate of the Georgetown School of Training when she was attacked by a man.

She was stabbed several times about the body and slashed in the stomach by her attacker.

According to a hospital source, at approximately 12.15 am Saturday, Rose, leaning heavily on a colleague, came through the gate of the hospital’s emergency room entrance.

The woman was stabbed several times in the neck and right arm. Rose’s attacker also gashed her several times in the face and once in the stomach.

According to a police source, Rose insists that she does not know her attacker. However, a police source stated that she earlier told relatives that it was her ex-boyfriend who attacked her.
