Taxi driver robbed of car on Middle Road

A Middle Road, La Penitence taxi driver was on Saturday night robbed of his car by four men, three of whom were armed with guns, but luckily for him the vehicle was later found abandoned at Vryheid’s Lust on the East Coast of Demerara.

The police in a release said that two of the men hired the driver, Terrence King, at the Bourda Market and stated they wanted to be taken to East La Penitence.

But while travelling along Middle Road two other men on a motor cycle rode in front of him and forced King to stop his motor car, number HB 2586. King was held at gunpoint and tied up with duct tape and placed in the back seat of the car. The release said that the men took him to A Field, Sophia where he was released and they escaped in the vehicle which was later recovered.
