GINA saddened by deCaires’s passing

The Government Information Agency (GINA) said it is saddened by the passing of Guyana Publications Inc Chairman and Stabroek News Editor-in-Chief David de Caires.

GINA said de Caires was the main architect of the establishment of the paper in 1986. De Caires and his wife Doreen “are well known for their involvement in social welfare acts of benevolence and their contribution towards enhancing the beauty of the city of Georgetown,” the release said. GINA extends condolences to de Caires’ relatives and friends and to the staff of Stabroek News.
