The University of Guyana (UG) Council recently appointed Professor Daizal Samad as the new Director of the university’s Tain, Berbice Campus.

According to a press release Samad has a BA in English from UG, and an MA and PhD in English from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He was appointed Associate Professor of English and Literature, St Thomas University, Canada, Professor of English  Language and Literature Studies at Al Akhawatan University, Morocco and Senior Advisor and Educational Expert, Ministry of Higher Education, Sultanate of Oman.

The release said Samad has extensive research experience through his authorship of five books and 22 published papers. He is an education expert and his tertiary education capacity and experience would be an advantage to the development of the campus, it said.

Samad’s appointment came into effect on November 1.
