THAG hosting pet show

The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) is hosting its 2nd Annual Novelty Pet Show tomorrow on the lawns of Red House.

In a press release THAG said this fundraising event is being held to encourage care and appreciation of pets and is also an opportunity for families to showcase the talents of their beloved pets.

The agenda starts out with the judging of the outstanding “wow pet” of the afternoon followed by the official judging at 3 pm. The categories of the competition are best dressed pet, most unusual pet, cutest couple – pet and owner, sprint relay, obedience test and obstacle course. For birders the categories are good parrot: Can you say….Or can you whistle. Special attention will be paid to the dress, design of costume and obedience displayed by pets. THAG said persons who have not yet submitted their registration forms can contact its secretariat at telephone numbers 225-0807 or 225-0817.

It said too the Guyana Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals will be also hosting a booth to publicise their pet adoption programme and to inform the public about ways to contribute to the protection of animals countrywide. THAG invites families and visitors to enjoy a fun-filled afternoon while cheering for their favourite pet. Games for children will also be available.
