There is still no sign of the missing US-registered aircraft, although more than a week has passed since its disappearance. The Dynamic Aviation owned Beech King Air plane went missing last Saturday afternoon.

Director of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Zulficar Mohamed said that yesterday’s search for the plane had again proved futile.  The search had been aided by the arrival of another plane owned by Dynamic Aviation which was equipped with a special camera to take quality overhead pictures. Mohamed said that more ground forces would be deployed today as the search continued.

According to him, these ground forces would be sent out to a few “interest areas” that had been identified by the overhead search groups.
Meanwhile, the Director said that the previous “interest area” that had been identified had not been reached by the foot patrol, and the co-ordinates had still to be rechecked.

When the patrol attempted to reach this area yesterday, it was discovered that the co-ordinates for the location were slightly off.  However, as soon as these co-ordinates were confirmed the foot patrol would be dispatched to this area.  Mohamed said that the search would continue until all avenues had been exhausted.

At the time the plane went missing, three persons were on board.  These were the pilot Captain James Wesley Barker, First Officer Chris Paris, who are both US citizens, and Canadian Patrick Murphy, a Geophysics technician.
