The Alliance For Change commends the success of the security forces in apprehending and bringing to prosecution the alleged perpetrators of the GuySuCo payroll heist and for keeping the loss of life in the process minimal.
The AFC, in a press release, stated that over the past weeks the security forces had been tainted by reports of torture, inhumane detention conditions, high-handedness, incompetence and ineffectiveness but they have displayed their proficiency and professionalism to the public with the recent apprehension of the criminals.
The AFC especially lauded the force for the professional way in which they conducted their investigation and apprehension of the criminals, with minimum loss of life in the process.
The AFC said this is positive proof that there are outstanding officers in the force who know how to behave and act professionally when the need arises.
The release further pointed out that the police and army should view the benefits of apprehension, as against killing, since information about the Bartica massacre, and other high profile crimes, is finally coming to light.
This will in effect enhance the image of the force, the release added.
The AFC also urged the police force to explore and investigate every lead that has been presented as a result of the successful ending of this matter.
