Agri ministry staff relocated for building repairs

The Ministry of Agriculture has relocated some of its staff to allow for rehabilitative works to its main agriculture building located at the junction of the Regent and Vlissengen roads.

In a press release the ministry said the building is considered a heritage building and that it is “rather old.” It said recently internal rehabilitation works have been initiated in the section that deals with projects falling under the remit of the Agriculture Sector Development Unit. “In the process, some of our staff had been discomfited and we have relocated them until conditions are declared acceptable by the competent agency,” the ministry said.

The ministry said officers from the Environmental Protection Agency have already made checks and it hopes to be able to operate from the said location soon. The ministry apologised for any inconvenience caused to the public.
