It turned out to be another fruitless day for those searching for the missing Beech King Air aircraft, which went missing two Saturdays ago.

According to the Director of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Zulfikar Mohamed, the foot patrol and the aircraft continued their searches yesterday. He said that the foot patrol was moving ahead at a fairly brisk pace along the identified search lines.

The patrol covered about 10-12 kilometres yesterday, which meant that they were covering an average distance of 1 kilometre an hour.

He further stated that the Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) signal, which was picked up on Sunday, has not been detected since.

However, he said that the party is at present not preoccupied with relocating the signal but is more interested in finding the plane.

When the aircraft went missing, US citizens Captain James Wesley Barker and First Officer Chris Paris along with Canadian Patrick Murphy were conducting a geophysics survey.
