PPP lauds security forces on recent successes

Congratulations have been extended to the security forces by the PPP for their recent successes in their fight against crime.

The party lauded the forces for their capture of the bandits who robbed GuySuCo’s personnel as they were transporting the company’s payroll and for the recovery of the lost money.

A release from the party said, “the police have been apprehending more criminals in the ‘act’ or shortly thereafter they committed their crimes”. This, the party says, is due to thorough investigative work and an enhanced intelligence capacity.

According to the release, “these are positive signs that the efforts of the government in working to modernize and make more efficient the whole security and justice system is beginning to pay dividends.”
Meanwhile, the party is calling for the courts to reduce the time it takes to dispose of cases particularly those in which persons are incarcerated while awaiting trial.

The PPP said it hoped the successes of the police would serve as a deterrent to crime and called on other groups to support the security forces in their work.
