Man denies uttering forged $3.7M cheque

A man who allegedly uttered a forged Citizens Bank cheque for over $3M to a woman was granted bail yesterday when he appeared before Magistrate Nyasha Williams-Hatmin at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

Seon Clarke pleaded not guilty to the charge of uttering a forged document.
It is alleged that on November 14 at Agricola, East Bank Demerara, Clarke with intent to defraud uttered a forged Citizens Bank cheque for $3.7M to Iesha Paris, knowing same to be forged.

The prosecution made no objections to bail and it was subsequently granted in the sum of $150,000. The magistrate then ordered that Clarke return to court on January 7 next year.
