A post-mortem examination performed on Rickford Barker, the man whose battered body was found in a cemetery at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara last Saturday has revealed that he died as a result of brain haemorrhage.

A police press release stated that Dr Nehaul Singh performed the examination and gave the cause of death as brain haemorrhage.

Barker of Hyde Park, Timehri was found dead in the cemetery with marks of violence about his body last Saturday.

On Tuesday, Commander of `A’ Division Leroy Brumell had told this newspaper that five persons have so far been held over the death of the 35-year-old man while several others are being sought.

Reports reaching Stabroek News are that some time during last Friday night, residents caught Barker, who was recently released from prison, attempting to break into a shop in the area.
