Relatives of a Canada-based Guyanese believe that the body of a woman which was last week found in a yard at Fifth Street, Alberttown may be hers.
The woman was initially identified only as ‘Donna’ and her body is still at the Georgetown Public Hospital mortuary.

There were no marks of violence on the body, which a hospital ambulance took to the medical institution where the woman was pronounced dead.
Relatives of 58-year-old Shirool Ali told Stabroek News via email that they last heard from her on October 31, when she indicated that she had found an apartment in Queenstown. No contact was made with her since.

However, they said, another relative had called last week to say that the woman had been in her yard “wandering about” some weeks back; that relative has since returned to New York.

The woman was described as being of Indian descent, light complexion, five feet two inches tall, with weight of about 150 pounds.
Relatives said that Ali, who was mentally ill, had left Canada to come to Guyana to stay with other relatives but no one took her in because of her condition.
