Father, son injured in crash

A father and son were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital after sustaining injuries in an accident at Aubrey Barker Road and Mandela Avenue early yesterday morning.

While the son, Colin Garraway, 19, was treated for a broken arm and sent away, his father Ivelaw Christian, 47, was sent for emergency surgery and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, where he remained in a critical but stable condition up to press time.

Christian of 2461 Soufriere Street, North Ruimveldt was the rider of a motorcycle with Garraway of 3731 North Ruimveldt as the pillion rider. They were taken to hospital around 6:52 yesterday morning. It is not clear how the accident occurred, but the driver of minibus BKK 2259 was taken into police custody at the East La Penitence police station, in connection with the incident.
