Magistrate Hazel Octive-Hamilton yesterday remanded a man who allegedly had in his possession 262 grammes of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.

Travis Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking when it was read to him.

It is alleged that on November 25 at Anna Catherina, West Coast Demerara, Smith had the cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

Smith was refused bail and the matter transferred to the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. His next court appearance is on December 11.
