Trio remanded over arms find at Aurora

The three men reportedly found with guns and ammunition in the vehicle they were travelling in at Aurora, Essequibo Coast, on Thursday were remanded to prison after appearing at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court on firearm charges yesterday.

Louis Hopkinson, 30, and Randy Morris, 28, both of East La Penitence, were charged with possession of firearms without licence and possession of ammunition without licence. They were also charged along with Adrian Edwards, 20, of Anna Regina, Essequibo Coast, with conspiracy to commit a felony, to wit robbery under arms.

Magistrate Faith Mc Gusty remanded the trio to prison until January 19 next year, the police said in a statement.

The trio was charged following police investigations after an unlicensed .32 Taurus revolver with six matching rounds and an unlicensed 9mm Beretta pistol with six matching rounds were found when ranks stopped the car with the men and executed a search at around midday on Thursday at Aurora.
