Eversham payroll robbery under probe

Gunmen on Tuesday invaded the Macedonia/Joppa NDC office at Eversham Village, Corentyne and escaped with over $300, 000 after attacking two employees.

Police are investigating the matter but so far neither of the gunmen has been caught.

A release from the police yesterday said that the armed robbery occurred around 1:30 pm, during which two employees were attacked and robbed by two men armed with handguns.

Investigations revealed that a bag containing $303,000 which had been withdrawn from the bank was on a desk in the office when the two men entered the building. They held the clerk, Rondela Quinn and Brian Budhram, a ranger, at gunpoint.

After striking Budhram about the body with their firearms, the men robbed him of $11, 000 cash and subsequently fled with the bag of money.
