Two remanded over De Willem goldsmith robbery

Two persons were yesterday charged with last Saturday’s armed robbery on a goldsmith at De Willem Village, West Coast Demerara and later remanded to prison after an appearance at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court.

Jermaine Williams of De Kenderen and Roquelle Alleyne of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo appeared before Magistrate Fazil Azeez and will return to court next week Friday.

According to a police press release, Williams pleaded not guilty to a charge of robbery under arms while Alleyne denied a charge of accessory after the fact.
