Duo for trial over dental technician murder

The two men charged with the murder of dental technician, Vishnu Santiee back in 2005 were committed to stand trial in the High Court by Magistrate Fazil Azeez yesterday.

Pater Ray Kassim called ‘Donkey’ and Satnanand Sahadeo called ‘Boyso’ were committed to stand trial after the completion of the Preliminary Inquiry, which was held at the Leonora Magistrate’s Court. It is alleged that the duo, on June 29, 2005 at Stewartville, West Coast Demerara murdered Santiee.

Reports are that Santiee was killed as he entered his yard and at least seven bullets were pumped into his body. A post-mortem examination had revealed that two different calibre weapons were used to execute him.

Reports at the time stated that he had visited his girlfriend at Uitvlugt and had gone home when he was confronted just after closing his gate.

Following police investigations, the duo was arrested and charged with the murder.
