“All like last night I miss out meh lil church cause ah this matter,” bemoaned Anthony Singh, who is accused of stealing two blouses from a store.

The 46-year-old father of three of Lot 48 Little Diamond had pleaded guilty to the charge of simple larceny.

It is alleged that on December 4, at High Street, Singh stole two blouses valued $1,000 from Ashmin’s Trading Company.

However, Singh stated that “de store had sale and all de clothes and thing them went pack up all around outside de store, even on de pavement and a lot ah people went.”

Singh explained that he was a clothes vendor and he had gone into the store to purchase some of the clothing when he accidentally jammed a box of clothes that fell to the ground. He said he picked up the box and replaced all the clothing and proceeded out of the store. However, two of the store’s staff ran up to him, grabbed him and enquired about two blouses that were missing.

He said he told them that he did not know about or have anything. The magistrate then entered a not guilty plea for Singh.

Prosecutor Sherwin Mathews noted that Singh was found with the blouses.
The magistrate then placed Singh on self bail and ordered that he return to court on January 26 next year.
