Taxi driver remanded over carnal knowledge of 11-year-old

Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday remanded to prison a taxi driver who allegedly had carnal knowledge of an eleven-year-old girl.

Keith Watson, 36, of D’Urban Backlands was not required to plead to the indictable charge of carnal knowledge when he appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that between September 1 and 6 Watson had carnal knowledge of an eleven-year-old girl.

The magistrate subsequently ordered that Watson be remanded to prison and that he return to court on January 9.
