Bamia roadblock nets gun, 100 rounds

Two men are in custody following the discovery of an unlicensed gun with 100 rounds of matching ammunition, in the car that they were in on Saturday.

Police, in a statement said that at about 5:30 pm on Saturday, ranks at a roadblock at Bamia, along the Soesdyke/Linden Highway stopped and searched a vehicle in which the unlicensed .380 semi automatic pistol with 100 matching rounds was found.

The duo in the vehicle were arrested and are in custody assisting with the investigations, the police said.
