Rawl Ashton of A Field Sophia stressed: “I tell she I done with she ah week ago and I go to she house for me tool bag and look wa she do”.

Ashton left his home at approximately 9.30 pm on Saturday for his ex-girlfriend’s B Field, Sophia home. The man said he had ended the relationship with the woman for a number of reasons and only went there to get his tools so he could work the next day.

“I ask her for the tool bag and she refused to give it me so we start to argue,” Ashton explained. “Next thing I know she grab this lil kitchen knife and stab me with it. Is after she stab me then she gon give me de damn tool bag…is only then.”

After the incident the man said he made his way out of his ex’s place and with the assistance of a friend headed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was treated and later admitted to Ward B2 in the Open Ward.

When Stabroek News visited the man yesterday afternoon he appeared to be in stable condition.

According to Ashton, this is not the first time that the woman has wounded him. The man said that up to a week ago he had been involved with the woman in a relationship that had lasted for nine months.

Four months into the relationship, Ashton recounted, they had argued about money and she stabbed him in the arm.

“I ain’t taking it so. I gonna press charges cause I know that she gonna do it again,” the man stated.
