City Council mourns Allan Chin

The Mayor and City Council said it is profoundly shocked and saddened at the passing of Councillor Allan Chin JP, COA. Deputy Mayor Robert Williams said he had been acquainted with Chin since 1974 when he had had political responsibility for Central Georgetown under the PNC. He subsequently served the party as an MP for some time, a press release said. Additionally, Chin became an active member of A Good and Green Guyana political party and was a candidate for municipal elections in 1994. Chin is remembered as “one who vigorously represented the concerns of the Stabroek and surrounding areas,” the release said. The council extends condolences to Chin’s wife, children and other relatives.
