UG Berbice campus library spreads Christmas cheer

The University of Guyana Berbice campus library brought smiles to some of the less fortunate children of Corriverton Primary School at Corentyne when it distributed gifts last week.

Staff members of the university pooled resources and purchased the gifts for the campus’s second ‘Give a child a gift’ exercise.

According to a press release from the campus, the gifts were handed over at a simple ceremony that included a pep talk from its director, Professor D. Samad. Remarks were also made by the Head teacher (ag) of the school, Ms Hooper, who expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the children.
