Sophia Literacy Project hosts Christmas party

More than 200 children were feted at a Christmas party the Sophia Literacy Project held at Congress Place on Saturday.

According to a press release the Project’s coordinators Carol Corbin, wife of Opposition Leader Robert Corbin, MP; Africo Selman, MP; Glenyss James, Lyris Primo and Patricia McPherson hosted the party.

The party opened with a prayer by Jennifer Wade, MP after which the children were entertained by carol singing, poetry recitations and dancing to music provided. In his address to the children Corbin congratulated them for their dedication to their studies; telling them that the PNCR was proud of their achievements.

He also explained the meaning of Christmas to them and charmed them with his rendition of ‘We wish you a merry Christmas.’

The release said Corbin then joined with the executives in serving and distributing gifts to the children.
