Coppin, 18, of 42 South Amelia’s Ward, Linden, has not been seen since December 3, when she caught a bus to go home.

Her mother, Rhonda Coppin, yesterday told Stabroek News that she has received several reports of sightings of the girl, but nothing concrete. So far, there have been reported sightings of the girl in Linden as well as on the East Coast of Demerara, but checks have proven them to be false.

Ashaki, who is a student at the Linden Foundation Secondary School, left home to complete a school project. Afterward, she went to her mother’s salon, from where she contacted her to say she was going home.

The elder Coppin told her daughter to clean fish, which would be cooked for supper when she got home.

“I decide to close early and I went [home] to cook and I see the children tekkin’ window for the door,” the woman explained, adding that when she inquired about Ashaki’s whereabouts, they told her, “‘No. She ent come home.’”When the girl’s friends later inquired about her, the mother realised that something was wrong.

Ashaki Coppin was last seen wearing a black and silver top, a pair of dark blue three quarter pants and black sandals.

Anyone knowing her whereabouts is asked to contact her mother at 643-5826, her aunt Charlene at 617-1348 or 671-9886 or the nearest police station.
