Fiery death for farmer

-had threatened suicide

The charred remains believed to be that of a 28-year-old farmer were discovered in his Parika Backdam home on Christmas Day after residents reported seeing the house on fire.

Residents reported seeing Dhanraj Seemangal’s home on fire at approximately 2 am Christmas morning.

According to a police press release, a check done sometime later led to the discovery of the man’s remains.

Seemangal’s wife and children had reportedly moved out of the home recently and it is alleged that he had threatened to commit suicide. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
