Nine held after ganja found in minibus

Police ranks on Tuesday arrested nine persons after some 200 grammes of compressed marijuana were discovered in a minibus that was stopped at a check point on the Linden/Soesdyke highway.

A senior police officer told Stabroek News that charges will be laid shortly.
Up to press time it was unclear if anyone had been released.

According to reports the bus was stopped for a random security check and while officers were doing so, they found the illegal substance wrapped in plastic in a cornflakes box.

Investigations are continuing.
