I was extremely disappointed when I was informed at the USA Embassy that the photograph I attached to my application form was not 50 mm by 50 mm.
The result is that I was asked to submit a photograph and reschedule my appointment date.
Since I needed a date before July 14th and no such date was available, I have lost the right to an interview that I paid for when I wanted it.
I did not measure the sides of the photograph because I assumed that the studio would be aware of photograph specifications for visa applications.
The studio once again gave me a photograph that measured 43 mm by 50 mm. I protested and was then given the photograph with the correct dimension after a child used his ruler to convince them.
Meanwhile, I have lost the opportunity for the interview in relation to my vacation plan. Thanks to an established studio that cannot use a simple ruler.

While I understand how you feel, I beg to differ that the studio is the cause of you loosing your visa appointment…I am sure you took great pains to make sure that you had your application form filled, all your documents in order as requested – likewise, it is my opinion, you should have measured your photo and make sure 100% it was the required size.

Its the fault of the embassy. The photo is one aspect and his interview and award of a visa could have been completed without it. He should have then been asked by the embassy to provide a replacement photograph within 24 hours so that the visa could be issued.
Embassies are not flexible enough.
Both Jamoon and CFO are correct. Its his fault because he can’t distinguish between a rectangle and a square and the embassy sometimes are too bad minded. Now de big man whole $20,000 plus gone down de drain when it wouldda tek less than an hour to come back with the correct size photos.
It’s the phot studio’s fault. They advertise that they produce photographs for US visas. So anyone looking for photos for their visas would go there.
It’s only after a child measured the photo and they saw it was their error did the produce the correct size.
The studio should refund the applicant’s visa fee.

I think you guys are too harsh on Deoranie. I think she should complain to Jagdeo so that he can put the owner of the Photo studio in his/her place. Jagdeo dont play to buise up those business people.
I think if the studio advertised, or accepted to job based on their knowledge of the size of the photo, then they are at fault. If they just took pics without knowing what they were for then she has no one to blame.
Usually the studio would ask what the pic is for…
