Dear Editor,
It has been in excess of two weeks that the community of Werk-en-Rust has been experiencing overflows of sewage and effluent from the sewerage system. Many reports have been made to the competent authority – GWI – but to date no rectification has been made, nor has the community been informed as to the reason why it has to continue living in these deplorable conditions.

We are sending a copy of this letter to the Guyana Water Inc for any comments they may wish to make.
Raw sewage is overflowing in many parts of the city.
It’s not only a health issue but a total disgrace to residents and the city at large.
No maintenance is the norm. The powers that be expects all systems to self maintain. Well they surely can see the outcome of their great leadership.
