Carifesta I think is about cultural heritage. The word heritage I think (subject to correction) should involve everyone young and old. Those who have achieved, and those hoping to achieve. Those hoping to achieve may learn from those who have achieved. I just hope that this message is understood and appreciated.

I hope in the past you did not thumb your nose at previous invitations,
for if you did, then you know how we guyanese behave when we are
slighted….is later for you!

Hopefully the Minister has seen your letter and hopefully in future
you will be accorded some greater rspect.

Yup. I have seen what you have seen. The politics of favoritism, nepotism, elitism, Jagdeo-ism and all its attendants are obvious for all to see.

This disease has pervaded every facet of life in Guyana. No one is untouched. As an artist, keep looking ahead. Do not lose your trajectory. The Guyana you yearn for has come and gone – a long time ago. More or less!

Your role as an artist is to render in contemporary terms the mysteries of the human spirit and the universe.

Stay with that and you’ll find your bliss. Keeep looking for Guyana and you’ll be in a deep, dark forest – and in great peril.
