Dear Editor,

As one of my friends said, it is “mind boggling” when one thinks about the scope, extent and outreach of the work that Mark Benschop and his foundation have accomplished in Guyana since his release from prison. The level of his motivation in reaching out to others without any discrimination after all the trials that he has faced and probably still faces today, speaks volumes.

It has been said that, “the experiences of life should never make us bitter, only better” and if there is anyone in Guyana who has proven this to be true, that person is Mark Benschop.

Kudos to you Mark and much success with the work of the foundation.  The good work that you’re doing has not gone unnoticed. In closing, you remind me of this quote from Sun Tzu: “A true leader leads by example not by force.”

Yours faithfully,
(Name and address provided)

    Very very good for Mark

I still have reservations on his security and I hope he is conscious
    about it.

There are too many enemies lurking around and now that he is doing
such good, more jealousies would surface.

    Humans tend to be envious.

Pity the writer withheld his or her name, but as my good friend in Guyana
told me many a time, ” boy , Carl, ah live in Guyana yuh know. Dis is nat NA”.

……. perhaps the President was right !…. benschop probably did learn his lesson in jail ,, way to go benschop ,, ! u should try to help those u lived with at lot 12,, and by ur experience show them how u have been “reformed” ……..

  3. Steel UNITED STATES says:

It was written in his destiny for Mark to spend sometime in jail. But it was also written that what he has learned from that experience made him more purposeful. I am sure that he more acknowledges that they are things in motion that you just can’t change. And weighing the situation as prison time allowed him to do…a subtler impression is the way while still retaining most of his perspective. You can only point fingers if you have walked a mile in Mark’s shoes. Remember that he’s only human.

Kudos to Mark. He is doing well with his Foundation and should continue on with his work. Stay away from politics is my advice to him and he will come through with flying colours. He has a brilliant mind.Use it constructively and wisely. Do not stray from the path you are on. Good luck Mark. May God be your guide.

Mark, many are proud at your works and admire you.

Indeed kudos to Mark Benschop and his foundation. Howevr, like Carl, I too have reservations about his security, but can only trust that he is aware of those around him and will remember that Sun Tzu also said “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”

    • justice4all UNITED STATES says:

Mark Benschop was a Political prisoner. It is strange that those who scream about the rule of law loose all respect for that principle when it comes to certain segments of the population in Guyana. Backwardness is a curse that continues to act like a chain and boulder around the neck of Guyana. And no where is this greater amplified than the convoluted maze of primciples that that serve as a foundation for some of the opinions and views expressed in here.

Roger Khan was a known criminal whose activities was given a wink and a nod by an administration that is ethically and morally compromised. The fact that supporters of said administration are able with a straight face to hurl suspicions at Benschop should alert all to the deplorable lack of those two values in this lot.

Coolieman…I think you should change your name, as an person of Indian origin I find it racist to put it simply…assuming you are of Indian origin not that you are not an indentured servant …why don’t you see other races using negroman/buckman etc..have pride in yourself and your history!! I hope the editorial staff ask you to do so…so don’t be a backward person..
