Dear Editor,
Our local performers were determined not to be outdone at Carifesta, and the large crowd present was not disappointed. The groups from Montserrat and Trinidad and Tobago, I am sure were pleased by the excellent preparations made by the organisers. Everything went smoothly with little room for error. Hats off to the organisers for a job well done.
Yours faithfully,
Quado Vancooten

It is refreshing to hear comments like the above, brief, yet succinct –
a distinct sense of maturity! What benefit is it for us to be constanly in the negative! In the now famous words of Rodney KING:
“Can we all just get along for the sake of the children and the next generation to come?”

  2. Carl Anthony Browne UNITED KINGDOM says:

I do agree, Carifesta was a great experience, and I do congratulate the organisers for such a great production, travelling from the UK to witness this event was refreshing and educative, as a matter of fact Carifesta is alive and extracts will be shown at The Guyana Folk festival to be held here in the UK on 25th May, And that is Culture at its best.keep up the good work all.
